The voice of lived experience sits at the heart of all we do
Our purpose is to support local people in Derby and Derbyshire to improve mental health services by sharing their experiences. We champion the voice of lived experience so that mental health service receivers and carers can have a greater say in the services they use. We create opportunities where people can be listened to and ensure their experiences are increasingly at the centre of how services are designed and delivered.

We need Experts by Experience with energy and enthusiasm, who are passionate about improving mental health services in Derbyshire. There are a variety of ways you can get involved with what we do.
What skills do I need to be an Expert by Experience?
Good listening skills
Good communication skills, and being to work with a wide range of people
The ability to record experiences, and give feedback about these experiences
Being able to put yourself in someone else's position
A flexible and positive attitude
